Technician Intern Program (John Deere Program)

Vocational College Student (John Deere Program)
Student will be overseen by the Service Manager unless otherwise designated and will be working with carefully chosen technicians.
Rate of pay: $16.00 per hour prior to full-time hire.
Students will be eligible for a signing bonus ($5,000) and tool program ($1,500) upon 2-year contract commitment.
Objective: To develop entry-level service technicians trained by John Deere-approved instructors. Students will earn their associate degree and other industry-recognized credentials to launch a successful career with LandPro Equipment while contributing to our workforce.
Who: High school seniors sponsored by a LandPro dealership and who are committed to an Ag. & Turf John Deere TECH degree program.
When: During summer breaks prior to and through the duration of the degree program until graduation.
Overview and Program Goals: The technician internship is designed for high school seniors committed to continuing their formal education in an Ag. & Turf John Deere TECH program through an accredited post-secondary institution. Obtaining sponsorship from a LandPro dealership is required. Upon completing the 2-year John Deere TECH program, the student will be committed to working with the sponsoring dealership for a minimum of 2 years.
Students can secure employment their senior year of high school with LandPro, begin their 2-year John Deere TECH education, and have the opportunity to work and learn with our experienced service technicians during planned breaks and weekends if applicable.
Upon completion of the John Deere TECH internship the student will:
- Complete the foundations learning path (JDU Core classes)
- Complete associate’s degree
- Have an understanding of labor performance, efficiency, and productivity
- Assist senior technicians with diagnostics and repairs
- Meet the minimum hours for the onsite experience through employment at the dealership
- Have an understanding of the service department operation
