Features
Frame sizes
Looking for a reliable all-around tractor to support a variety of applications? The 6M offers a portfolio of 18 models with 5 frame sizes (2400mm to 2900mm) to optimize your operation. Whether you need a nimble tractor for loader work or a row crop tractor with dual tires, the 6M is up to any task. The broad offering of optional transmissions, hydraulics, rear axles, and tires allows the operator to customize to meet the unique challenges of any operation.
Maneuverability
6M 125 with sloped hood and short wheelbase
The 6M Tractor was designed to ensure maximum maneuverability and visibility, no matter the job. The sloped hood design on the 2400mm wheelbase cab models delivers superior visibility to the front loader or front-mounted attachments. Operators can easily see the front mounted loader attachments (buckets, pallet forks, bale spears, etc.) to ensure proper alignment for attaching and detaching.
When you work in small spaces, a short wheelbase is critical in providing the tight turning radius needed to maneuver. The 6M features a 17.8-cm (7-in.) shorter wheelbase (240 cm [94.5 in.]) on four tractors ranging from 95 to 125 engine horsepower. Take advantage of a 4.3-m (14-ft) turning radius, perfect for cleaning out barns, working livestock, baling hay, roadside mowing applications, and more.
Note: These features do not apply to the Open Operator Station (OOS) models.
Engine performance
Engine
The high-power output of the John Deere 4-cylinder, 4.5L (274.6-cu in.) engine and the 6-cylinder, 6.8L (415-cu in.) engine is made possible by refined, four-valve, high-pressure common rail (HPCR) technology with an injection pressure of up to 2500 bar (36,259.4 psi). The 6M leverages different levels of technology and turbocharger configurations to efficiently deliver peak performance throughout the portfolio.
Intelligent Power Management (IPM)
All 6M Tractors come equipped with Intelligent Power Management (IPM) in base configuration. IPM provides a 14.9-kW (20-hp) boost for operations using rear power take-off (PTO) requiring high-power or in transport applications over 15 km/h (9.3 mph). Operators can experience higher loads on the PTO in mowing and baling applications in thick heavy material. When this increased load is sensed by the engine, additional hp is delivered to push through challenging conditions. The solution improves productivity with more consistent ground speeds, quicker acceleration, and the ability to better hold desired transport speeds. All 6M Tractors have IPM in base equipment.
Reversible fan
Reversible fan
Optimize engine performance in dusty environments by utilizing the optional reversible fan technology available on all 6M Tractors. The reversible fan allows the operator to quickly clean radiator screens from the comfort of the cab. By manually activating the system with a switch in the cab, the radiator fan blades blow out dust and debris away from the radiator. This enables the engine to run cooler, resulting in fuel savings, less downtime, and overall increased efficiency.
Operator station
6M standard cab with Compact CommandARM™ console
Operators rely on a high quality and comfortable cab environment during long days. The 6M delivers a more productive, comfortable, and efficient experience through three cab packages and customizable options to fit any application. All 6M Tractors will come standard with a digital cornerpost display, delivering on superior visibility to the front of the tractor. This easy-to-read digital display gives you access to all critical machine data and settings in one place. Additionally, premium options are available to let you configure your 6M to fit any operation including:
- Mechanical or electrical reconfigurable joystick with PowrReverser™ functionality
- Quickly and easily change directions with the push of a button while doing loader work
- Compact CommandARM™ console
- Swivel in your seat and have all the controls at your fingertips
- Triple-Link Suspension (TLSTM)
- Increase both transport and field productivity with superior stability, ride, and comfort with a suspended front axle
- Mechanical cab suspension
- Improved ride quality by minimizing the vertical movement from the rear axle
- Panoramic roof
- Delivers great visibility which is critical in loader applications such as stacking bales

Compact CommandARM™ controls
Compact CommandARM™
The optional Compact CommandARM console provides an enhanced customer experience through intuitive controls you needed for daily work at your fingertips, such as the transmission, loader joystick (optional) rear hitch, and engine rpm. The Compact Command ArmTM swivels with the seat providing consistent access to critical machine controls.
G5 Universal Display
G5 Universal Display
The G5 Universal Display increases the screen area so you can monitor more functions at once and have direct access to adjust when needed. You could, for example, view vehicle control functions on your primary display and Precision Ag applications on the Extended Monitor.
Experience the next level of Precision Ag applications through the optional G5 Universal Display. These displays enable AutoTrac guidance that provides enhanced usability and increased performance. If you need more capabilities, like different track types or documentation, the G5 Universal Display is a great fit by enabling on-screen mapping and documentation.
Transmission portfolio
Customers rely on the 6M tractor for many different applications such as loader work, transport, baling, mowing, roadside mowing, snow removal, sugarcane harvest, etc. This requires an extensive transmission portfolio to support the unique requirements of the various applications. The 6M allows the customer to select the controls and speeds to best fit their applications. Operators will have the ability to select transmission solutions offering:
- Gear shift w/push buttons vs single speed levers
- Speeds ranging from 30k/h (19 mph) to 50k/h (31 mph).
- Creeper options with minimum ground speed of 0.27 km/h (0.17 mph)
PowrQuad PLUS transmission
PowerQuad PLUS transmission
PowrQuad PLUS transmissions feature a partial PowerShift technology. An operator selects a desired range using the single gearshift on the right hand console and the gears using the push buttons on the same handle. The PowrQuad PLUS has a declutch function to shift ranges without using the foot clutch pedal. By pressing the declutch button on the transmission shifting lever, it is possible to change the ranges up or down. For specialty uses like vegetable, orchard, peanuts, and other operations that need extremely slow speeds, creeper speeds are available with the PowrQuad PLUS transmission.
AutoQuad PLUS transmission
AUTO mode activation button
The AutoQuad PLUS transmission features all the benefits of a PowrQuad PLUS, with the ability to automatically shift four power shift gears depending on engine rotations per minute (rpm) and load. This allows the customer to select the desired range and allow the tractor to determine the optimal gear within that range. For specialty uses like vegetable, orchard, and other operations that need extremely slow speeds, creeper speeds are available with the AutoQuad PLUS transmission. Depending on the configuration, AutoQuad PLUS transmissions equipped with creeper gears have a minimum ground speed of 0.27 km/h (0.17 mph) and a top speed of 50 km/h (31 mph).
CommandQuad transmission
CommandQuad PLUS transmission
The CommandQuad PLUS maintains the impressive reliability of an AutoQuad transmission while enhancing operator convenience and productivity through increased automatic shifting capabilities. This transmission utilizes push button control of ranges with a single lever and two operating modes – AUTO mode and manual mode:
- Manual mode: the operator can shift through speeds and ranges without clutching by moving the control lever forward, toward the + indicator, or backward, toward the - indicator.
- AUTO mode: the tractor shifts automatically at present shift point depending on engine load
Enhanced AutoPowr™ transmission – Infinite speed adjustment in all situations
AutoPowr/IVT transmission
IVT transmission control handle on 6M Tractor
Operators looking for a more comfortable, fuel efficient, and proven transmission can upgrade to an Infinitely Variable Transmission (AutoPowr™/IVT) system for any 6M tractor. The IVT system utilizes a combination of mechanical and hydrostatic power, providing stepless and continuous power across an infinitely variable range of speeds. The set speed wheel is quick and easy to adjust with the operator’s thumb to establish the maximum commanded forward or reverse speed in each speed band.
