Student will be overseen by the Service Manager unless otherwise designated and will be working with carefully chosen technicians.
Students can earn up to $7,500 in signing and retention bonuses plus a $5,000 tool allowance with a 2-year contract commitment.
Objective: To develop entry-level service technicians trained by John Deere-approved instructors. Students will earn their associate degree and other industry-recognized credentials to launch a successful career with LandPro Equipment while contributing to our workforce.
Who: High school seniors, or graduated adults sponsored by a LandPro dealership and who are committed to a John Deere accredited post-secondary institution studying "JD TECH".
When: During the summer months prior to starting the college program and during scheduled semester breaks.
Overview and Program Goals: The technician internship is designed for high school seniors, or graduating adults committed to continuing their formal education in a John Deere accredited "JD TECH" college program, the student will be committed to working with the sponsoring dealership for a minimum of 2 years.
Students can secure employment as early as their senior year of high school with LandPro, begin their 2-year JD TECH education, and have the opportunity to work and learn with our experienced service technicians during planned breaks and weekends if applicable.
Upon completion of the John Deere TECH internship the student will:
- Complete the John Deere Certified Technician Training Path
- Complete associate’s degree
- Have and understanding of labor performance, efficiency, and productivity
- Assist senior technicians with diagnostics and repairs
- Meet the minimum hours for the onsite experience through employment at the dealership
- Have an understanding of the service department operation
